NOW ARRIVING! The Express Line to Tone!

Take the 5:25, running EL-84’s out of London straight to the studio for the ultimate big sounding, little amp. Or, catch the 5:50 running 6L6’s out of Fullerton, heading uptown to the gig. These new amplifiers are the direct line to Tone City.

Both 25 and 50- watt models feature four inspiring modes from two oppositie personalities spread across two fully independent channels. If Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde had to share one platform, this would be it.

Say you’re a traditionalist: Select Clean and Blues for your two footswitchable sounds. Or, if you’re addicted to Gain, choose Crunch and Burn. Then stand back as the well-mannered soul of Dr. Jeckyll morphs into the maniacal Mr. Hyde, hardcore beast. Most important is the classic authenticity of all these iconic tones. No matter what your stylistic destination, the Express will take you there… Fast.

Up front, that number “5” indicates the low power, single-ended magic of pure Class A. The “25” and “50” refer to the rated push-pull output. Together, these make up Duo-Class™ our patented new power circuit, the first to offer both single-ended and push-pull configurations in the same amplifier.

But even that’s not the last stop. Each channel is further equipped with its own Contour depth control for added shaping that’s both assignable and footswitchable. Used subtly, Contour adds a halo of depth and chime to gleaming clean sounds. Higher Contour settings, especially in Crunch and Burn, take you into Recto™ turf, tight, huge and menacing.

Don’t be fooled by their compact size! You’ll be shocked when you hear this little monster! And for truly stunning performance, take the 5:50. Both 1x12 and 2x12 pull like a freight train, locomotive torque.

So step on up. The Express Line to Tone is now Arriving!

Mesa Boogie Mark V Combo

Premium tones from Mesa/Boogie!

Far more than a single amplifier, the Mark V is a journey through Mesa/Boogie's illustrious history. The Mark V houses multiple circuits and sounds spanning the lifespan of the Mark series — from the high-gain cascading pre amp of the Mark I all the way to the amazing power and control of the Mark IV. The preamp offers numerous sounds, ranging from tweed-like tones to British crunch to blistering trademark Boogie overdrive. If you're looking for an amp with an amazing of history and tone to match, it's the Mark V from Mesa/Boogie.

Mesa/Boogie Mark V 40th Anniversary Combo at a Glance:

Multi-channel mayhem
The Mark V is loaded with a slew of sonic possibilities. Channel 1 contains the lowest gain sounds of the three channels and can be thought of as the rhythm or clean channel. The other two channels contain modes that work better for soft clip, medium crunch and high gain rhythm work. There is a tight, skinny Clean (toggle up), a warm, rich Fat clean sound with added lower fundamental (toggle center) and a higher gain pushed version of this architecture found in Tweed (toggle down). A channel-global Bold voicing switch adds punch and cut starting in the high mids to help you stand out in a dense mix and give you an increase in headroom.

Channel 2 is the transitional channel between the low gain sounds of Channel 1 and the high gain fury of Channel 3. This channel contains the biggest differences between modes and there is definitely dialing required as you toggle through the voicing modes. A stripped, British-inspired Edge (switch up) unleashes low to mid gain aggression.

Low mids are added for a thicker, throatier "Crunch" sound that travels up the gain scale while retaining a tight attack. And finally, Mark I flips the architecture to arrive at the iconic high gain voice that put Mesa on the map back in 1970 with the little Boogie amp. This creamy voice is infused with thick bottom end and works great for fattening up single note solo sounds. You may want to run the BASS control very low (off to 10:00) when the gain is high in this mode to retain the best attack characteristic and avoid flabbiness. There is also a Normal/Thick switch that affects the Mark I Mode only to add extra gain in the mids for added single note focus.

Channel 3 goes on from there to encompass the best of the Mark Series overdrive sounds. Beginning with the MK II C+ (switch up) the sound is pure, blistering focus and this is the classic Boogie voice of the 80's that became the foundation for players like John Petrucci, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, as well as a staple for L.A.'s first call session players of the day Steve Lukather, Mike Landau, Dean Parks, and many more.

Equalizer
The onboard 5-band graphic EQ has been an iconic trademark of Mark series Boogies since they first appeared on the Mark I back in 1970. The shaping power of this feature can't be denied, especially when combined with the Mark II's tight, focused gain sound. In the '80's the classic "V" setting of the EQ on Mark II and III models became a new sound in heavy rock and etched the on-board graphic a place in rock history.

While the Mark V tone controls are accurate and effective over a wide range, they come earlier in the signal chain and can only achieve so much shaping before they produce possible imbalances in certain modes. The graphic EQ comes at the very end of the signal chain so you can shape the final sound with the only consideration being how much of a certain frequency your speakers, cabinets — and ultimately your ears — can handle. Each Channel is fitted with a mini-toggle to select the 5 Band Graphic EQ, but the fun doesn't stop there. The Mark V gives you the choice of two ways to utilize the power of the graphic EQ for each Channel!

Multi-Watt power
The bottom 3 position mini toggle in each channel is the Multi-Watt Power feature that determines the amount (wattage) and type (configuration) of power each preamp Channel will be coupled with to create a classic sound. Any amplifier's sound is 50% preamp and 50% power, so this switch is responsible for a large part of a given Channel's personality and feel. The choices repeat for all 3 Channels and they are 90 W, 45, and 10 W. Using the switch is simple... just select the power you want for each Channel, keeping in mind that the greatest headroom, focus and authority will always be found in the 90 watt position. That's how to use it, but for those who want the full story, here it is.

Simul-Class Power
There's no denying the sonic difference between Class A and Class A/B — but what if you could have both? Since 1981 Simul-Class Power has been the heart and soul of the Mark series amplifiers, imparting its sweet, musical character onto any sound in the vast library of the now classic Mark legacy. Cleans that shimmer with transparent layers of sweet delicate highs, while the bottom end breathes a warm fundamental under a bed of rich low mid ambience. Never harsh — always fat, the Simul lead tone is the quintessential single-note solo sound.

This patented way of wiring an output section with two (or more) pair of output tubes combines two different styles of wiring configurations to arrive at a blend that showcases the best attributes of both. In Simul-Class, one pair of output tubes is wired in the more efficient, cooler running Class A/B Pentode configuration, which produces the greater portion of power and headroom while running cooler. This was the popular way of wiring amplifiers from about the early '60's forward — chosen for its efficient use of tubes, greater power, and reliability. The only sonic penalty for its greater power (Class A/B Pentode wiring) is that it can have a tendency to bring forward the harsher odd-order harmonic content. The Simul solution — add a pair of tubes running in the less efficient, but infinitely sweeter Class A Triode configuration. This style of wiring produces far less power out of a pair of tubes while creating more heat, but it emphasizes the even- order sweeter harmonics and transitions to clip with a soft, rich purring quality like no other.

Keeping it cool
The cooling fan is fitted with an On/Off switch to allow silent running in the studio or late night practicing in the lower wattage settings. We recommend leaving the fan on whenever possible to increase the toneful life of your power tubes. Basically, if the sound doesn't bother you... leave the cooling fan on all the time.

Choose your bias
Finally a Bias Select switch is included that allows you to run EL34 power tubes in place of the stock compliment of 6L6's. You can run EL34's in just the outside pair or all 4 power tube spots. The EL34 style tubes will produce a brighter, skinnier sound that will clip with a whole different harmonic content that can be nice, especially for recording where you may not need the Channel switching performance of all 3 Channels and can dedicate the amplifier to one specific sound. The 6L6'S will most likely perform better for a wide range of sounds and certainly sound fatter and richer on most all the sounds and produce the greatest clean headroom.

Keep It Simple... Without Imposing Limitations. Introducing the Electra Dyne™. An easy-to-look-at, simple-to-use new amplifier that has way more TONE than you might expect hidden artfully behind these six knobs and a switch. Deeply rooted in the Best of the Brit lineage, the Electra Dyne takes modified English gain sounds and sorts them into LO and HIGH regions. These two choices are combined with a retro-minded, American-voiced clean “channel” and linked to one mini-toggle that gives you three of the most classic sounds in Rock and Roll on one switch! And unlike other amps of this style, footswitchable Modes and the finely tuned control interface allow many players to stomp back and forth across the pond without touching a single control. Add to this stealthy versatility our patented Simul-Class™ Power that blends the efficiency and headroom of CLASS AB PENTODE with the sweeter clip and enhanced harmonics of CLASS A style wiring. Choose between the Simul-Class quartet of 6L6 for 90 watts of authority or, switch down to the Class AB pair for a bouncy, easy to clip 45 watts. You can also load the Electra Dyne with EL34 type tubes for a brighter Brit style clip thanks to the switchable Bias Select. Lush, deep, all-tube Reverb adds a whole new dimension to the Brit-inspired scheme and raises the bar to a new height. The Reverb circuit can be switched-in to be Active in all Modes, defeated in either LO or HIGH gain Modes (CLEAN remains active), or Hard Bypassed, which removes the entire circuit – including the Reverb tube – from the signal path for the purist.

Stiletto® marks Mesa’s dedication to the legendary power behind heavy rock’s British ancestry. Razor sharp and finely honed, the Stiletto is mean enough to slice right through any mix with a trademark new sound. From sparkling cleans to classic Brit crunch to a menacing new realm of high gain, our goal was to re-define the EL-34 sound and elevate it beyond the limits of previous boundaries. Just like the Rectos did to 6L6s!

Tighter, higher Bass. Lower, fatter Mids and a hazy harmonic top where luscious overtones line up in a shimmering crystalline spread. This mid-focused footprint compliments a Recto® perfectly in an aggressive two-guitar band, allowing each player to carve out a distinctive region…and own it.

Two ruthless pre-amp channels create a mighty 6 mode platform while keeping that chrome panel gleaming and simple. Channel One fashions two Clean modes, one FAT and expansive, one TITE and urgent – or can be switched to CRUNCH, which roams from a ’34-style Brit Blues clip through classic UK Hard Rock. Channel Two starts here, cloning the mid-gain presence of CRUNCH, and moves into a hellacious new frontier of modern grind with the barbed attack of TITE-GAIN or the super-layered, harmonic loaded bomb in FLUID-DRIVE. Only another MESA should consider sharing a stage next to the sinister fury of the Stiletto’s high gain thrust.

Each Channel of the Stiletto Deuce can be set for 50 or 100 watt performance, while the Trident offers the clippable 50 – or a truly stunning 150 watts of coliseum headroom, per channel. Each channel also offers your choice of Rectifiers: Silicon Diodes or Tube Tracking which automatically matches the optimum number of 5U4s to the power array selected.

Introducing the
Stiletto ACE® Amplifier
from Mesa Engineering

Prepare to be SHOCKED! We were. Still are. Because sometimes, things come together in a way that exceeds all hopes and plans. That’s certainly the case with our newest Stiletto®… it rocks so hard it’s guaranteed to ACE your expectations as well.

Take the Combo. (please!) Only once before has so much performance been this portable… and that was 35 years ago with the introduction of the first Boogie® Combo. What that amp did for the American Rock scene, the ACE promises to do for the British legacy. Make it versatile. Keep it powerful. Let it be portable.

Players have come to expect a great clean sound in every MESA amp, and theStiletto ACE® delivers in spades. Cleans like you’ve never heard before from an EL34 amp. Chiming transparent clarity riding atop warm breathing lows, and all this 3-D magic is delivered with stunning dynamic attack.

Because classic English Rock sounds are neither totally clean nor inherently high gain, we’ve fitted duplicate CRUNCH modes in both Channels 1 and 2. For the player who has no use for pristine clean, this mid gain mode roams the wooly landscape from nearly clean to a punchy snarling break-up.

Just before these classic sounds end, Channel 2 begins its journey into high gain realms no British amp ever dared. TITE GAIN blisters with searing heat while maintaining articulate focus. FLUID DRIVE bumps the gain and liquefies the attack to inspire your single note soloing to a new level of freedom.

Combining this new, more aggressive preamp with the brighter, faster feel of the Ace’s fifty watt power, creates a Stiletto that cuts with more depth and finesse than any of its English counterparts. Even veteran tone snobs need to check this amp.

We’ve also included our patented Switchable Rectifier® feature that allows you to tune the power supply for the feeling that best suits your style - Tube for a vintage-inspired sag or Silicon Diodes for tight tracking punch and authority.

With shocking low end that’s tight and percussive, ACE Combos Rule! Crunch you’d swear is coming from a 4x12, with top-end openness that blooms and enhances clean sounds, the Ace may be the ultimate combo… redefining portable EL34 Tone! Also available as a 50 watt head.

So stack the deck with the ultimate Brit-inspired Tone, hand-made right here in Petaluma, California. Deal yourself in…’cause the Ace lays down a handful of fresh tricks no amp from the Kingdom ever dared to play.

Introducing the new Pure Class A, EL-84 Powered LONE STAR SPECIAL® featuring Channel Assignable Power (patent pending) that allows you to assign 1, 2 or all 4 EL-84’s to either of its 2 Channels for independent Power Ratings of 5, 15 or 30 Watts!

In one short year, the stylistic momentum of the Lone Star ® has been overwhelming.

Players and reviewers alike have bestowed global accolades on this gem, including prestigious Editor’s Pick and Platinum Awards.

“So …why another Lone Star?” Because tone this good, demands it!

Take that incredibly expressive pre-amp with its intuitive versatility, add the vintage magic of EL-84’s running Pure Class A — and a new classic is born.

Where its Big Brother boasts the huge warmth and headroom of 6L6 power, the Special delivers seductive, bubbly tone and a sensual, elastic feel. This Lone Star is short on weight, but tall on personality.

Authentic retro-tone is all about power and the way it clips. Yet in any given amp, the sweet-spot of power clip is inseparably tied to its wattage and playing loudness. The Lone Star Special smashes this age-old limitation by offering three distinct power configurations, each with its own window of wattage: 30, 15, or 5. Perfect Power. Per Channel. On Demand.

Thirty Watts, bold and pure from all four power tubes punches through the mix and hangs with a band in mid-size venues. Fifteen watts cries the blues with sinful passion …coaxing expressive soul from an electron-soaked pair of EL-84’s. Both these circuits run Pure Class A in a Push-Pull configuration. But what really makes this Lone Star Special is its ability to switch down to five watts of single-ended power bliss (patent pending).

In Push-Pull circuits, the second harmonic is cancelled out when the two halves of the wave-form are re-combined in the output transformer. Unlike Push-Pull, Single-Ended circuits preserve this most musical of all harmonics. A subtle coating of warm distortion (an octave above the note you’re playing) glazes the entire spectrum with a purring, golden halo of precious nuance. Perfect for individual playing or recording. For a full description of this technology see Randall Smith's "Class A - Exposed and Explained."

Between the two Lone Stars, you can choose to clip your power at 5, 15, 30, 50 or 100 watts. All this bouncy Class A tone blooms naturally in a trim new 1x12 cab roughly 3/4s the size of its Big Brother. (And you can afford to pack both these hand-crafted jewels for around the same bling-bling as a one-trick pony from the boutique corral. But don’t shop price – compare tone!)

Gigging at the club… rehearsing with the band… recording in the studio… tracking at home… or simply finding inspiration late at night… the finely tuned power sections of the Lone Star Special ® transcend all these needs – going where no single amp has gone before.

Dual Rectifier Head - Please Call 1-800-934-5210 For Info Or To Order

Since the early 70's the Boogie™ Mark Series amplifiers have been famous for their gobs of overdrive and liquid sustain, making them the choice for a solo voice. Combining this thick gain with our on board 5 Band Graphic EQ produced lethal crunch as well and these trademark sounds propelled players and MESA into the spotlight for 20 years.

Still, we yearned for more in our mosh. We envisioned a menacing sound with the creamy voice of a Boogie, yet with huge low end that could track faster and stay tight even under the most extreme settings. In the early dawn of the gotee and tattoo era we longed to create another classic…a statement of the times, like the mighty little Boogie of the 70's. Our quest ended in the Dual & Triple Rectifier® Heads and the rest is history. Ten years later, the patented Dual Rectifier® Series amplifiers continue to astonish us with their success.

Throughout the 90's we introduced several other models in this line aimed at milder gain styles and they too found their legions of devotees. Yet with hundreds of hit recordings and thousands of ecstatic customers, the Dual & Triple Heads remain the mainstay of the Rectifier phenomenon.

So it is with reverence, pride and excitement we introduce the Newest Rectos®…The Three-Channel Heads!

These new machines of mayhem unleash all the punishing gain found in the original Rectos' two channels and add a powerful third channel dedicated to rhythm sounds. The high gain lead channels now each have an additional mode dubbed RAW that that travels the region of gain below that of the original VINTAGE mode. RAW, with its' touch sensitive response, lets you explore the heavier side of blues on up to classic rock …revealing the soulful nature of this amazing tube rectified power section.

With these 3 new versatile channels, 8 incredible modes, the new Solo Control feature, a Programmable & Footswitchable Effects Loop and a new stage-ready 5 Button Footcontroller , the new Dual and Triple Heads are pure-bread, gain-wielding beasts…destined for the same iconic status bestowed upon their predecessors.

Triple Rectifier® Head - Please Call 1-800-934-5210 For Info Or To Order

Since the early 70's the Boogie™ Mark Series amplifiers have been famous for their gobs of overdrive and liquid sustain, making them the choice for a solo voice. Combining this thick gain with our on board 5 Band Graphic EQ produced lethal crunch as well and these trademark sounds propelled players and MESA® into the spotlight for 20 years.

Still, we yearned for more in our mosh. We envisioned a menacing sound with the creamy voice of a Boogie, yet with huge low end that could track faster and stay tight even under the most extreme settings. In the early dawn of the goatee and tattoo era we longed to create another classic…a statement of the times, like the mighty little Boogie of the 70's. Our quest ended in the Dual & Triple Rectifier® Solo Heads and the rest is history. Ten years later, the patented Dual Rectifier® Series amplifiers continue to astonish us with their success.

Throughout the 90's we introduced several other models in this line aimed at milder gain styles and they too found their legions of devotees. Yet with hundreds of hit recordings and thousands of ecstatic customers, the Dual & Triple Solo Heads remain the mainstay of the Rectifier phenomenon.

So it is with reverence, pride and excitement we introduce the Newest Rectos…The Three-Channel Heads!

With these 3 new versatile channels, 8 incredible modes, the new SOLO feature, a Programmable & Footswitchable Effects Loop and a new stage-ready 5 Button Footcontroller , the new Dual and Triple Solo Heads are pure-bred, gain-wielding beasts…destined for the same iconic status bestowed upon their predecessor.

Tone! Big as Texas! Wide as the Rio Grande. Clear as the bell that rang over the Alamo. Unstoppable as a rising Texas flood. Yeah, that's some bold proclamation. But the Lone Star® backs it up.

Just as our Mark I sprang from the Black Face era and took classic guitar tones to a new level, now the Lone Star take the next step forward, crystallizing that perfect sound that's haunted you for years.

As guitar players, we live for those elusive moments of divine musical inspiration, where you become one with the interaction between your guitar and amplifier and it magically transcends you and your playing to a level well beyond your normal plane. You know the ones…. Those moments of unbelievable gratification where your tone is so amazingly right and the feel of your strings are so perfectly connected to your fingers that you become an unbridled channel of soulful musical expression. These are the moments that truly motivate us as players and keep us coming back to the art of playing guitar! It is in this exact spirit that we have created the Lone Star!

The Lone Star is an amplifier of such extravagant tone and seductive feel that we can almost guarantee that you will experience divine inspiration and effortless expression every time you plug into it! It is that amazing! From its innovative custom circuitry, down to its new classic retro/vintage looks, the Lone Star was designed to be the new defining vintage/boutique amplifier from the original boutique amp builder!

From its conception, the Lone Star was targeted directly at exceeding players’ expectations of both tone AND versatility from a vintage and/or modern boutique amp, without accepting compromise. Tonally it must be experienced to believe, as there are not enough adjectives and expletives to remotely do it justice – Simply put, the Lone Star is a sonic flood of Texas-sized proportions! The most ridiculously amazing cleans, classic breakup and high gain tones we have ever offered in a single amplifier! It has become an instant favorite among every player in our shop and we practically had to hold a lotto within our company to qualify who got the first one! It is “stranded island” good and if you only try one amplifer this year, make sure it’s the Lone Star – But be forewarned, prepare yourself for a new vice because it’s not just an amp – IT’S AN ADDICTION! The Lone Star will change the standard by which you measure all other amps!

Functionally, the Lone Star incorporates an impressive list of unique and extremely powerful features that allow you to tailor the character and feel of the amplifier to perfectly meet your musical needs. For a closer look at the Lone Star’s exceptional versatility and features list, let's dig into the front and rear panel controls.

Welcome to Lone Star Ranch
The Lone Star’s front and rear control panels are extremely player friendly and are in themselves an expressive art form through the beauty, logic and simplicity of their design. Two-channel simplicity delivers the goods...with surpassing versatility.

Dial Up Texas Gold
Channel 1 epitomizes the best of Black Face: a punchy, shimmering twang that gives way to furry smoothness. It's based on a traditional vintage/boutique gain structure to produce angelic and warm clean sounds in its low to medium gain ranges. Like most great tube amps, this channel can be driven to clip and produces incredible solo possibilities for blues or roots chording styles.

Channel 2 has a split personality. At the flick of a switch, it can clone the clean magic of Channel 1 (with an added touch of blues-roots gain) or kick in an additonal high-gain amplifier with its own dedicated control. With stunning performance inspired by the pivotal Mark I, the interaction of three cascading gain controls unlocks the historic vault of ground-breaking lead sounds.

Drive Control
Channel 2 CLEAN / DRIVE switch kicks in another triode tube stage for the high gain lead mode or, lets you bypass it entirely for a slightly higher gain clone of Channel 1.

Channel 2 Voicing Switch offers three gain/voicings allowing you to tune the response from NORMAL, revealing the natural sound of your guitar, to THICK and THICKER for more vocal quality high gain solo work in the DRIVE MODE.

Switching in the Drive control adds 2 more triode stages and an additional gain control to meter in the exact blend of smooth singing saturation. The bipolar nature of Channel 2 allows the Lone Star to roam effortlessly through both vintage and modern territory with full channel switching accuracy and an emphasis on soul and simplicity. It also provides an amazing amount of added control and flexibility to further tailor the sonic character and feel of the Lone Star to best match the musical style you are playing. There are many cool combinations, imagine having two low gain channels, one for sparkling clean and the other driven into an old school breakup, or one for low gain clean and the other for high gain singing sustain – Very Cool!

Multi-Watt™ Channel Assignable Power features Duo-Class™ which allows each Channel to operate in 10 wattts Pure Class A, 50 & 100 watts Class AB - letting you tailor the power to the playing style each channel will be dedicated to.

This Lone Star features Multi-Watt™ with Duo-Class™ Channel Assignable Power that lets you assign 10 watts of Pure Class A Single-Ended clippability or 50 and 100 watt Class AB Push-Pull power sections per channel. Then choose the optimum Rectifier. Tube Rectifier Tracking™ offers you a choice of the elasticity of vacuum tubes or the tight-tracking authortiy of silicon diodes. These options enable you to footswitch between high-power headroom and small amp expression.

Truly seductive Reverb (our best ever) includes separate depth controls for each channel plus a unique voicing feature that switches between glowing amber warmth and a brilliant springy halo.

The Master Output Control is joined by a Master Solo Control that provides an additional pre-settable master output that you can trigger remotely for a footswitchable boost when you want to feature a part. These two Front Panel controls are brought on line with the activation of the hard bypassable, Effects Loop. When the Loop is not active, the individual Channel Master Controls serve as final output controls. When the Loop is set to Hard Bypass, all associated circuitry is removed (for you purists) from the signal path. Since the Output and Solo Controls are wired as Loop Returns at the end of the preamp and Loop signal path, they are defeated when the Loop is bypassed.

The Power Switch is fitted with “ Tweed™” or normal “On” power settings. The Tweed setting provides a built in Variac effect by reducing the incoming AC voltage, which produces a spongier feel and increased clip-ability. This ability to run everything in somewhat of a brown-out state produces amazing possibilities for the clean sounds that are driven to clip.

The Diode/Tube Rectifier Tracking™ Switch is an amazing new feature that takes our patented Dual Rectifier™ concept to a new level. When Tube Rectifier Tracking is selected the Lone Star will auto-assign the most stylistic rectifier circuit to track the assignable 10/50/100-watt power settings of both preamp channels. In this mode, when either preamp channel is in the 10 or 50-watt position, the 5U4GB Rectifier Tube is automatically brought online, which produces an authentic vintage feel that is extremely silky and inspiring to play. In the 100-watt position, the Silicon Diode Rectifier is automatically brought online, which provides the Lone Star with “top fuel” performance that produces more punch, a tighter, livelier attack and substantially more headroom. In this way, Tube Rectifier Tracking allows you to tune each of the channels “power feel” to the specific preamp sound you are dialing in. For example, you can select Channel 1 running at 100-watts, which will auto-track to the Diode Rectifier for high headroom clean work, while running Channel 2 at 10 or 50-watts, which auto-tracks the Tube Rectifier for a sweet, classic breakup with a sultry vintage feel. Alternatively, if you prefer the articulate power and authoritative punch provided by the Silicon Diode Rectifier in both the 50 and 100-watt power modes at all times, you can simply set the Rectifier Switch to the Diode position. This setting would be best for any application where maximum headroom is needed or tight bass response is called for, such as clean rhythm playing or extreme high gain crunch rhythm sounds.

An all tube series Effects Loop handles outboard processing with transparent finesse. The ability to “Hard Bypass” the loop entirely assures the purist in you will be satisfied in the studio, where every nuance of tone is crucial and you don’t need the Solo feature.

The pure, all tube, long tank Reverb is fitted with a Bright/Warm Switch that enables you to tailor the reverb sound to the style you are playing. Bright delivers a vintage-inspired sound complete with the identifiable haze of harmonics associated with older amp circuits, while Warm produces a more pure, studio quality character. Individual blend controls for each channel allow you to get the mix just right for each of the sounds you have designated to the two channels.

External switch ports are provided to assure that you can interface the Lone Star with larger rack or multi amp setups. The Channels and Solo feature will respond to any tip-to-ground latching type logic at their corresponding jacks. You can control these features via external and/or midi commands with any switcher that supports grounding type logic within their programmable menus.

A Switchable Bias Select feature allows you to swap tube types in the power section for different response characteristics. Use the stock 6L6 type tubes for the greatest versatility, or swap them out for a quartet of EL34’s for a brighter, more British feel with added harmonic spread.

A Slave Output and Level Control round out the Rear Panel enabling you to use the Lone Star as the “dry” master amp for a stereo setup, drive an external rack of outboard processing or, simply add additional power for larger venues. This output captures the entire sound of the preamp and power section by padding down the signal at the speaker output.

Dual Rectifier Roadster Head Black

Dual Rectifier Roadster Head Black - Please Call 1-800-934-5210 For Info Or To Order

Introducing the new Dual Rectifier® Roadster™; the most fun a guitarist can have on four wheels…well alright, casters.

This all-tube thoroughbred shares a class with only one other amplifier - and that position is held by its brother – the mighty Road King™. In fact, the Roadster is a Road King without Progressive Linkage™ and other rear panel features that some players fear need a higher education to navigate. The Roadster now offers the plug-and-play minded guitarist a way to enjoy a myriad of footswitchable preamp choices without the power option anxiety.

Throughout two lower gain Channels, 1 and 2, you’ll discover every classic clean sound in the pairs of CLEAN and FAT modes. Once you’ve dialed in your ultimate clean sound, you can duplicate it in the other Channel and modify it for single note applications, a more pushed version or decide to switch to another mode for a radically different sound. Meanwhile dedicated American Blues and English Rock sounds reside in the easily clippable mid-gain realms of TWEED and BRIT. These dynamic and incredibly expressive modes would make an amazing amplifier all by themselves as they roam the zone between clean and clipped with authentic finesse.

Channels 3 and 4 contain all the mind-altering iconic sounds of the legendary Dual Rectifier® Solo Head and hand you the keys to the world of high gain…both retro and future. The RAW, VINTAGE and MODERN modes cover the entire range of gain from a sweet clip, through liquid voice up to a crushing wall of tight grind and are duplicated in both Channels. This again allows you to either find a favorite sound and dedicate the channels to slight differences or, configure them for wildly different styles.

The Channels’ duplicated modes are a powerful feature - making the Roadster not just an amp for your current style or band but rather, a lifelong companion to your music…offering limitless configurations, keeping pace with your growth as your playing evolves.

The Roadster also features our Multi-Watt™ Channel Assignable Power feature allowing you to choose either 50 or 100 watt power for each preamp Channel. This simple to use feature expands the potential of each Channel mode exponentially by enabling you to lower the power-clip threshold or, tighten things up as needed. The two power choices also offer different personalities; 50 watts with its brighter, elastic bounce or 100 watts of tight-tracking low-end girth and mid punch authority.

Add to this power shaping magic our patented Tube Rectifier Tracking feature. Each channel features the ability to choose between the saggy bounce of the 5U4 Rectifier Tubes or the tight, bold authority of the Silicon Diodes. Selecting TUBE RECTIFIER TRACKING brings on-line one 5U4 when in 50 watts and two 5U4s when 100 watts is selected.

Reverb is paramount in an amplifier this versatile and the Roadster gets the best! We’ve taken our all-tube circuit from the widely acclaimed Lone Star and the result is lush, ambient Reverb that blooms with sweetness as it bathes each note in old school glory.  And because the Roadsters’ modes offer such a wide range of gain levels and sound styles, each Channel is fitted with a dedicated REVERB mix control located on the Rear Panel so Reverb can be optimized for each sound.

The Roadster is available in both Head and Combo formats. The highly portable 1x12 is rear ported for stunning power to weight performance, while the 2x12 Combo features our amazing closed–back design. These cabinets produce low-end spread reminiscent of a 4x12 for crunch and gain sounds while retaining the top-end sparkle and ambience of an open back enclosure. Either way you cruise there’s no way to lose.

So when you’re looking for an exciting new ride that’s easy to drive, has power to burn but can handle the turns… check out the Roadster™. It’s the perfect addition to any guitar garage.

Mesa Boogie Express 5:50 1x12 Combo C90 Speaker

Together, these make up Duo-Class our patented new power circuit, the first to offer both single-ended and push-pull configurations in the same amplifier. But even that’s not the last stop. Each channel is further equipped with its own Contour depth control for added shaping that’s both assignable and footswitchable. Used subtly, Contour adds a halo of depth and chime to gleaming clean sounds. Higher Contour settings, especially in Crunch and Burn, take you into Recto turf, tight, huge and menacing. Don’t be fooled by their compact size! You’ll be shocked when you hear this little monster!

MODE SWITCHES: Two Incredible Channels, Four Fully Evolved Modes give you a boarding pass to all the classic guitar styles. The pristine, blooming CLEAN and tight, grinding CRUNCH cover the rhythm territories in Channel 1 while Channel 2 roams the wide open spaces of soloing with howling BLUES and soaring BURN modes. CONTOUR Controls: Both Channels feature Assignable / Footswitchable

CONTOUR controls that pack the sonic power of a multi-band EQ into one simple control. Blend this dynamic, bouncy circuit with the musically rich TONE controls for a sound far bigger than you’ve ever heard from a combo.

External Switch Jacks: Switch “tracks” remotely with the EXTERNAL SWITCH jacks where CHANNELS, REVERB and the CONTOUR controls can be patched to an external master switching system for remote access. The transparent series EFFECTS LOOP handles the interface to all outboard processing.

Patented Duo-Class Power Switching: Let’s you switch the Class (operating class) and Configuration (wiring style) in tandem, giving you two dialed power-voice ranges with the flick of a switch.

The M-Pulse 600™ Simul-State™ Bass Amplifier

Establishing a new paradigm of bass performance, the M-Pulse™ line combines the best of musical old-world tube technology with modern high-power portability. Available in a 600 watt rack version, this handmade beauty sports our soulful sounding Simul-State™ tube driven MOSFET power. This is our proprietary hybrid technology that uses vacuum tubes from the Input jack right up to, and including, the driver for the custom MOSFETs. And this dynamic team produces stunning musical power.

An all-new tube pre-amp feeds the rotary tone controls starting with active Bass and Treble and including a warm passive Mid --this is your foundation. From there, craft your own seductive world of bass using the five-band parametric EQ that lets you roam for tone unbridled between 30 Hz and 12kHz. Dynamics are manipulated via an all-new on-board Compressor featuring Threshold and Ratio controls.

Our proprietary Solo™ function provides a second master volume for a footswitchable boost when it’s spot light time. Or use Solo as compensation for extreme EQ or Compressor settings.

M-Pulse amplifiers provide a toneful balanced Direct Out featuring a three-pin XLR with selectable Pre/Post options that let you choose between the huge warmth of your stage sound or....the stripped focus of your bass when interfacing to live or recording consoles. A Slave Output and Level control allows linking to other power amps, including another M-Pulse for coliseum venues or provides a post- signal output to drive outboard processing.

So if you’re on the search for tone and want to revolutionize your style, check out the M-Pulse Simul-State Bass Amplifiers. Close your eyes, open your ears …and trust your musical M-Pulse.

Titan V-12 Head - Please Call 1-800-934-5210 For Info Or To Order

While many guitarists have the need for speed, bassists seem to crave power…the more the better. But power alone isn’t enough. Definition, Accuracy, Presence and a musical EQ are essential in getting big power to the ground so you can create a great bass sound…one that can drive the band and move the crowd.

To define the nexus where Big Power and Tone meet, Mesa Boogie unveiled the TITAN V-12.

This bigger block version of our widely acclaimed Big Block 750 pumps up this straightforward, easy to dial preamp; blowing it out to a two channel, 3 rack spaces of  footswitchable, genre defining, Bass magic.

The V-12s’ identical all-tube preamps can be used with one instrument to create a  channel switching platform or, can be switched to a Dual-Input, two channel configuration for use with two separate instruments in a stage environment. Swap instruments, hit the Footswitch and your ready to go. This quick-change preamp makes the TITAN a great choice for the Bassist who also doubles on Key Bass… providing footswitchable hot-swap capability while wearing the stringed instrument.

A traditional wide-band harness of TREBLE, MID and BASS controls is enhanced by the musically accurate shaping power of the semi-parametric ACTIVE MID band. Mix up a sound with the sweet blend of the standard harness and fine-tune it with the frequency specific Active Mid band.

Each channel serves up a dedicated Gain and Master control for the footswitchable tube OVERDRIVE allowing you to dial in the perfect amount of tube saturation. From a soft-clip to a medium growl on up to full blown high gain sustain – the full range is available for your exploring pleasure.

The Walkabout Scout™ Convertible Bass Combo. It’s a Head. It’s a Combo. It’s BOTH. And either way, the TONE is huge! (Yet this is one petite rig.)

Start with the WalkAbout™ head: 300 watts for 13 lbs. A pure all-tube pre amp provides the tone. Tubes even drive our MOSFET power block giving WalkAbout the same great Simul-State™ performance as our bigger M-Pulse 600™. (Bass Player magazine recently raved that the 600 “scores big points for innovative design, luscious tone and roadworthy construction.”)

Now enter the new Scout cabinet. A double break through in design, the Scout provides docking for the powerful WalkAbout. In minutes, with only a screw driver, you can convert the Walkabout from a head to an awesome featherweight combo.

And to magnify your booty, the Scout cabs boast a unique down-firing Passive Radiator. This low-end down-force amplifies the cabinet volume to produce shocking hugeness. And to keep it light, we use space-age neodymium speaker technology in both 12 and 15 inch Scout drivers.

Now, BETTER THAN EVER with Mesa's versatile Player Control™ Network featuring selectable 3-point crossover (3k / 4k / 5k), a premium Horn Attenuator & Instant Reset Horn Protection.

Small size. Huge sound. Unique flexibility. Hand-built quality: the WalkAbout Scout™ from Mesa/Boogie®. Thirty years of service, helping bass players world-wide.

Think Mesa for Bass.

Mesa/Boogie TransAtlantic TA-15

Guitarists, check out this stunning tone machine! The TransAtlantic TA-15 from Mesa/Boogie might be small, but it's loaded with the heavy-duty features that you'd expect from one the world's great amp makers. So what kind of sonic goodies are packed away inside this beauty? For starters, the TransAtlantic TA-15 doles out the best of British and American tones (TransAtlantic, get it?), all powered by Mesa/Boogie's powerful Multi-Watt channel-assignable power amp.

A good amp does one thing well, while a great amp does many things well. The TransAtlantic TA-15 is a great amp. Using the tried-and-true combination of 12AX7s in the preamp and EL84s in the power amp, the TA-15 easily conjures British jangle (both Normal and Top Boost modes), British high-gain tones, American tweed tones, and classic Boogie lead tones. Not bad for an amp that weighs in at just 12 pounds! Better yet, the TransAtlantic TA-15's wattage is switchable among single-ended Class A, 15 watts of Class A, and 25-watts of patented Boogie Dyna-Watt power. These lower wattages are great for really pushing the power section into that sweet, sweet sag that makes tube amps such expressive tools. Mesa/Boogie might have been a late entry into the world of low-wattage amps, but once you plug your guitar into this beauty, you'll understand why they took their time — the TransAtlantic TA-15 is an elegant beast of an amp!
