Natural
To show their love, Fender has added the "Thin Skin" lacquer treatment and larger (medium jumbo) frets to the '70s Stratocaster body. The think skin treatment is usually done on Fenderr Custom Shop models but is not typically seen on production-line models. It allows the wood to breathe and make the guitar sound better. The addition of larger frets, a common aftermarket uptrade in the 1970s and 1980s, improves sustain and the singing nature of the Strat. Players who love to bend strings appeciate having larger frets on their Stratocaster.
This hybrid "best of the '70s" American Vintage Stratocaster guitar features all of the greatest elements of the now-classic '70s Strat guitars, including an ash body, U-shaped maple neck with improved three-bolt neck and Micro Tilt™ neck adjustment, '70-'71 vintage-correct bridge, "Diamond Head 'F'" tuners and specially voiced pickups. Other features include the unmistakable large headstock, '70s-style decal and bullet truss rod adjustment nut.

From Fender®'s Artist Series, this Telecaster features an alder body with a maple "C" shape neck, rosewood fingerboard and 2 vintage style single-coil Tele® pickups with alnico magnets.
Designed in cooperation with the Strummer estate, the Joe Strummer electric guitar has a highly distressed "road-worn" treatment that duplicates the original's worn-to-the-wood layers of gray auto primer and flat black spray paint. It also features a "Revolution Rock" engraved neckplate and a limited edition art customization kit that includes Strummer-inspired stencils, stickers and graphics by designer Shepard Fairey.
Strummer was, of course, the Clash's articulate and fiery co-founder, lyricist, rhythm guitarist and lead singer; he later founded, recorded and toured with the Mescaleros. All his life, he vigorously championed individuality, self-expression and change-tenets often reflected in the constantly altered look of his favorite instrument-his Telecaster (currently on display in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland), an otherwise standard '60s-era model with all the original parts and specifications.
When Strummer bought it in 1975 for £120, the guitar had a Three-color Sunburst finish. He was having none of that, of course, but his improvised DIY gray and black "finishes" deteriorated quickly, giving the Telecaster its distinctive look. Like Strummer's music, the battered electric guitar changed constantly-plastered as it was with stencils, stickers and new paint jobs through the many stages of Strummer's life and career.
To celebrate Strummer's fierce sense of individuality, Fender and acclaimed artist Shepard Fairey collaborated on the new guitar's limited edition Joe Strummer Telecaster customization kit, which includes stencils and stickers inspired by the custom designs Strummer decorated many of his instruments with. The kit comes in a classic 12" album cover featuring graphics by Fairey and photography by Bob Gruen and will accompany the first 1,500 guitars.
The legacy of Joe Strummer (1952-2002) continues to live on, grow louder and shake up the establishment with the release of the Joe Strummer Telecaster, modeled after the beat up and battle-hardened '66 Tele® he wielded as leader of "the only band that matters"-seminal Brit punk commando unit the Clash.

This is where it all began: in 1951, Leo Fender released the Telecaster, the world's first commercially successful solidbody electric guitar. Renamed from "Broadcaster" that was introduced in 1950, it's has a simple, yet enormously useful design—borne out of Leo's experience with electrifying Hawaiian steel guitars—that has been embraced over the years by guitarists from a wide range musical genres, and copied by guitar builders all over the globe.
Just like the original, this 60th Anniversary Telecaster has the features that set the template for solidbody electric guitar design: an ash body provides the basis for the storied twangy sound, a revolutionary one-piece bolt-on maple neck—until the Tele, bolt-on necks had only been used on banjos, the classic string-thru-body bridge, and dual single-coil pickups with the treble pickup mounted on the bridge plate—a coupling that helps characterize the Tele sound. From crisp signature sparkle at the bridge to warmth and fullness at the neck, the 60th Anniversary Telecaster gets its rich depth, definition and dynamics from dual American
Vintage Telecaster single-coil pickups.
Controls
Volume, tone and pickup switching—that's it. Now as then, the controls are elegant in their simplicity and solidly reliable in their effect on the sound. Two knurled "chromedome" knobs are mounted on an original-style chrome control plate. The one knob on the Tele features the Delta Tone™ system, in which a detent at the "10" position eliminates all the tone control circuitry and delivers the pure, direct sound of both pickups.

Tradition redesigned.
The Fender American Stratocaster Electric Guitar is a Fender icon. Juicy upgrades include a richer, deeper neck tint for a more elegant and expensive appearance; glossed neck front for improved looks with satin back for smooth playability; and bent steel Fender saddles with classic look and great tone. String spacing is narrowed for modern playability, saddle height screws are resized to reduce rough feel, and string slot on saddle is elongated to reduce string friction or breakage. The Copper Infused Cast Strat® Bridge Block (steel with copper—100% metal) provides increased mass and improved tone. This Strat features the original headstock shape but has staggered machine heads losing one string tree and improving string angle over the nut. Custom staggered pickup magnets improve string-to-string balance and give the G-string better tone. Cosmetics include parchment/black/parchment pickguard and parchment pickup covers, knobs, and tips.
The return of the American Standard Series Strat continues Fender's tradition of commitment to the people who play Fender instruments out there in the real world. Today's American Standard Stratocaster guitars are worthy heirs of their revered ancestors—mindful of player needs and taking full advantage of modern advances, yet remaining completely true to the elements and spirit that made these instruments popular in the first place. Improvements include redesigned bridges, neck and body finishes, and a Fender-exclusive high-tech molded case. Still on board for the American Standard Strat are the beloved hand-rolled fingerboard edges, Alnico V pickups, the Delta system that includes a high-output bridge pickup and a special no-load tone control, providing more gain, more high end, and a little more "raw" tone, and staggered tuning machines for tone and stability guaranteed to last a lifetime (with its limited lifetime warranty)!
Redesigned American Standard Strat® Bridge
Gives sought-after tone with modern smooth trem travel. Block retains the mass and tone of a vintage bridge block, but is chamfered for access to deeper dives. Saddles have the classic look and tone, but with modern improvements (spacing, slot elongation, height, screw length).
Bridge Component Specifics
American Standard saddles - The original vintage-style Fender bent steel adjustable saddle is one of the components that give vintage Fenders their tonal 'mojo.' Fender conducted tone comparison tests, and fell in love with them all over again. They have a wider tonal range and more character many other saddles. Then Fender improved them; narrowing the spacing to afford more room (and complement the bigger frets and rolled edges), elongated the string slot to reduce friction and string breakage, and improved the string break angle over the primary contact point.
Tone-fusion block - A typical cast bridge block is impregnated with a resin to eliminate voids in the material and to bond it together…this steel block is infused with copper, which makes the block 100% homogeneous metal. The result is a more musical, higher mass bridge that has more of that machined-block sound. Fender was also able to keep the same American Series profile for increased tremolo travel.
